Add another company to the list of those with new East End headquarters.
Louisville-based health care holding company Confluent Health LLC has moved into 11,000 square feet at 175 S. English Station Road, in Landis Lakes TowneCenter, according to Brooke McVeigh Mugavin, marketing and operations director.
The move took place last month and gives the company more room for its growing workforce, she said. The office has added eight employees in the last year, for a total of 22.
That made for close quarters in Confluent’s former 3,000-square-foot headquarters at 13000 Equity Place, nearby off North English Station Road, Mugavin said.
The new site was chosen “because it can accommodate our current needs and plans for continued growth,” she said.
Mugavin declined to provide details about the Confluent’s growth plans, but she said the company is “always growing and always expanding.”
She declined to disclose terms of the lease or to say how much the move cost.
Another factor in the move is that the new location is next door to one of the company’s ProRehab Physical Therapy Louisville clinical therapy locations, which Mugavin said allowed for improved communication.
Confluent evolved from a holding company organized in 2007 by CEO, president and majority owner Larry Benz. Initially called PT Development LLC, the company became Confluent Health in October 2014 and focuses on physical and occupational therapy.
More than seven years ago, Confluent bought part of ProRehab, which then had clinics only in Evansville, Ind., and started adding locations, Benz told me in December. Confluent now is majority owner in ProRehab, although Benz declined to say how much of a stake it holds.
Between ProRehab and Confluent’s other investments, the company has a total of 70 clinics in five states, in addition to its Louisville headquarters and an office in San Antonio, Texas, Mugavin said. All told, Confluent employs about 900.
